A Diverse Supplier Network
Business Diversity is an extension of Discover's broader commitments to diversity and inclusion. We are committed to developing a supplier network that is more inclusive of businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Discover believes partnering with diverse suppliers will be critical to our long-term success as the diversity of backgrounds and perspectives this brings will drive innovation and growth to meet the changing needs of our diverse customer base.
We believe we can also support a goal that is much larger than Discover – affecting systemic change by promoting economic growth across groups who have historically been disadvantaged economically.
Our Vision and Commitment
Be an industry leader with a supplier network that is inclusive of businesses owned by minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities and members of the LGBTQ+ community.
What is a diverse supplier?
A supplier with at least 51% ownership by one or more diverse group(s). Diverse groups include ethnic minorities, women, veterans, people with disabilities or members of the LGBTQ+ community.
Who certifies a business as diverse?
Certification occurs through a third-party certification agency—usually an organization that promotes development of diverse businesses. The process involves documentation, screening, interviews, and possibly on-site visits to confirm that your business is indeed diverse.
In addition to state and local governments, the below listed organizations can certify your business as diverse and connect you with other companies that are looking to diversify their supply chains
- - National Minority Supplier Development Council (NMSDC)
- - Women's Business Enterprise National Council (WBENC)
- - Disability:IN (Disability Owned Business Enterprises)
- - National Gay & Lesbian Chamber of Commerce (NGLCC)
- - United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce (USHCC)
- - Asian Pacific American Chamber of Commerce (APAAC)
- - Native American Chamber of Commerce (NACC)
- - Vets First Certification Program (for veteran-owned small businesses)
Supplier Registration Portal
Our online Supplier Registration Portal allows suppliers interested in doing business with Discover to complete and submit a profile. Suppliers should include as much information as possible about the goods or services provided, locations served, and other details that can help our Global Procurement & Sourcing team understand how to leverage your offerings.
Once you've registered via our portal, your business will be added to a database that is reviewed by our sourcing team when bid opportunities present themselves. Should the offerings from your organization match our business needs, we will reach out to you using the contact information you added to your profile! Registering through our portal does not guarantee that Discover will procure your goods or services.
